JRTCC Sanctioned Conformation Divisions (Regular)

(MANDATORY - Judged on JRTCC Breed Standard)

The classes may be split by coat if entries warrant. This decision is up to the Trial Chairman. Conformation classes SHOULD NOT be combined due to insufficient entries on trial day. All classes listed on the prize list should be held and appropriate ribbons awarded.

Regular Classes

  1. 4 - 6 month Puppies: May be split by sex (followed by coat) if entries warrant.
  2. 4 - 6 month Puppy Champion & Reserve (no entry fee, open to 1st & 2nd place pups from class 1).
  3. Dog pups 6 - 12 months: may be split 6 - 9 mos. and 9 - 12 mos.
  4. Bitch pups 6 - 12 months: may be split 6 - 9 mos. and 9 - 12 mos.
  5. Puppy Champion & Reserve (no entry fee, open to 1st & 2nd place pups from classes 3 & 4).

    Open Division

    Open to adult Terriers ( l yr. of age and older). To be judged on breed standard. There is no cross entering between Open, and Working Divisions, nor is there cross entering between Bred by Exhibitor and Regular Open Classes.

  6. Dogs 1 yr. & over 10 - 12.5
  7. Dogs 1 yr. & over 12.5 - 15" (These two classes may be split by coat)
  8. Bred By Exhibitor Dogs 1 yr. & over 10 - 15" (These two classes may be split by coat)
  9. Best Open Dog & Reserve ( no entry fee, open to 1st & 2nd place dogs from adult classes)
  10. Bitches 1 yr. & over 10 - 12.5
  11. Bitches 1 yr. & over 12.5 - 15" (These two classes may be split by coat)
  12. Bred By Exhibitor Bitches 1 yr. & over 10 - 15" (These two classes may be split by coat)
  13. Best Open Bitch & Reserve ( no entry fee, open to lst & 2nd place dogs from adult classes)
  14. Best Open Terrier (no entry fee, open to Best Bitch & Reserve and Best Dog & Reserve )

    Working Terrier Division*

    Open to adult Terriers ( l year of age and older) holding a JRTCC Certificate of Fieldworthiness or JRTCA Natural Hunting Certificate. To be judged on breed standard and condition. JRTCC Medal supplied by the JRTCC Trial Committee, awarded to the Best Working Terrier. No cross-entering between Bronze Medallion class and Regular Working Terrier classes.

  15. Working Terrier Dog - 10 - 12.5"
  16. Working Terrier Dog - 12.5 - 15
  17. Bronze Medallion Dog (may be split by height if numbers warrant)
  18. Best Working Terrier Dog and Reserve ( no entry fee, open to lst and 2nd place dogs)
  19. Working Terrier Bitch - 10 - 12.5"
  20. Working Terrier Bitch - 12.5 - 15"
  21. Bronze Medallion Bitch (may be split by height if numbers warrant)
  22. Best Working Terrier Bitch & Reserve ( no entry fee, open to lst and 2nd place bitches)
  23. Conformation Champion and Reserve. ( no entry fee, open to Best and Reserve from the dog and bitch classes in the Working Terrier Division)

    Canadian Bred Division


    Open to Terriers considered Canadian Bred, as defined below.

  24. Open to Terriers considered Canadian Bred, as defined below. To be judged on breed standard. May be split by sex.
  25. Canadian Bred Puppy 6 - 12 months: - Open to terriers considered Canadian Bred, as defined below. May be split by sex.

NOTE

Canadian Bred is defined as follows: Any Jack Russell Terrier whose sire and dam were both Canadian owned at the time of breeding.

Canadian owned bitch - a female which is:

  • Registered/recorded with the JRTCC
  • or more owned by a Canadian resident.
  • In the case of a co-ownership where one or more of the owners are non-Canadian residents, the breeder of the puppy must be a Canadian resident.

    Canadian owned dog a male which is Registered/recorded with the JRTCC, and 50% or more owned by a Canadian resident.

*NOTE

It is the JRTCC's intention to honor the Working Terrier above all others and award the Conformation Championship to the Best Terrier in the Working Terrier Division.
